Simon began by asking me what I wanted to achieve, then went on to craft interesting innovative sessions that had me exploring the piano as an instrument rather than a chore. I had an on-and-off experience with piano in my childhood and teenage years, but I decided to pick it up as a serious hobby in my late 20s. After moving to the UK for a one-year job opportunity, I was lucky to have found Simon to have weekly online lessons with. Simon let me choose the pieces that I personally want to learn and was able to provide valuable feedback for each. As a working adult, it was difficult to find time to practice sometimes, but Simon has been very understanding and kept encouraging me when I would struggle. Thanks to Simon’s patience and personalized teaching method, I have seen lots of improvements in my playing techniques, and also grown my appreciation for classical music.
